- Creating a Brain-Compatible Work Place – This workshop will provide an overview of brain findings that can be used to create environments that support how we learn best, and most naturally. Segments of the workshop will address: basic make-up of the brain; enrichment of the brain through nutrition, color, music, exercise, etc; role of memory and threat in learning; strategies and expectations that are "brain antagonistic", and gender differences that impact approaches to learning at various stages of development.
- Teaching and Learning Through A Spectrum of Abilities – An overview of Multiple Intelligences (MI) – The definition of intelligence used in most of America’s schools is nearly 100 years old! This workshop explores the notion of MI as defined by Harvard psychologist Howard Gardner. The audience will experience eight intelligences in action through hands-on learning activities that are applicable to settings from the classroom to the Board Room.
